Description: The purpose of this study is to understand the adaptation process that occurs among research higher degree students from Malaysia who were currently studing in Australia and the United Kingdom. This research focuses on the culture shock and the adjustment process of Lsygaard's U Curve Model (1955). The study looks at the challenges faced by students as Muslims and also issues they faced being a Malaysian student overseas. The goal of this study is to look at how they are able to adapt themselves and also the challenges they faced as studenst who come from a very different culture. The research was carried out using focus group study. Malaysian students faced various social and environmental challenges and also the challenge of adapting as a Muslim.
