EPA a její metabolity mají účinky protizánětlivé, antiaterogenní a kardioprotektiví. EPA je důležitá pro správnou funkci buněčných membrán, mozku a je nutná v těhotenství pro dobrý vývoj plodu. Deficit EPA byl prokázán u několika psychických onemocnění. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is one of the essential omega-3 fatty acids. Many recent studies have dealt with effects of eicosapentaenoic acid on the human body. EPA and its metabolites are anti-inflammatory, anti-atherogenic and cardioprotective. EPA is important for the proper function of the cell membranes, the brain and is necessary for the proper fetal development during the pregnancy. The lack of EPA has been demonstrated in several psychiatric illnesses. Katedra biologických a biochemických věd 1. Prezentace výsledků bakalářské práce. 2.
