Description: A report on a racially insensitive incident in September 2006 at the University of Texas at Austin, which has struggled for years to boost its minority student population, is discussed. The incident involved several students participating in a "Ghetto Fabulous"-themed costume party, posing with 40-ounce bottles of malt liquor and wearing Afro wigs, necklaces with large medallions and name tags bearing stereotypically Black and Hispanic names. The photos were then posted online, upsetting many Black students at the university.
