  • Description: While CVS has seen strong year-on-year sales growth, pervasive cost pressures mean its financial outlook is ‘below current market expectations’ and it has been forced to roll out cost-saving measures. The trading statement lists a number of other factors working against its profitability – acquisition of 24 practices in The Netherlands plus a move into UK farm and equine practices have yielded disappointing financial returns. In November the Pets at Home Vet Group warned investors that cost pressures in practices had constrained their ability to grow and realise profits.
