  • Description: Aim of the study: The aim of study was to determine the influence of precipitation on the variability of wastewater discharge from the wastewater treatment plant located in Łęg in Połaniec agglomeration. Material and methods: The conclusions were made on average daily outflows, basic descriptive statistics concerning the quantitative characteristics of the outflows from the treatment plant in Łęg were also determined. The precipitation data obtained from the meteorological station in Chorzelów, located 14.5 km from the treatment plant in Łęg, was used to determine the average daily sums of atmospheric precipitation and the number of days with precipitation. The data on the daily precipitation was grouped according to the size and then compared with the average daily sewage outflows from the treatment plant. Results and conclusions: The statistical analysis showed a significant influence of precipitation on the increased outflow of sewage from the treatment plant. Over the years there has been an upward trend in air temperature and smaller amounts of precipitation which means warmer and drier summers.
