  • Description: 1397308 Paper making WIGGINS TEAPE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT LTD 14 June 1973 [10 July 1972] 32139/72 Heading D2B In an improvement in or modification to the method of manufacturing paper or other non- woven fibrous material disclosed in patent Specification 1329409, the fibres used. comprise a mixture of 80-95% by weight of unbeaten or relatvely lightly beaten fibres e.g. below 15 Schopper-Reigler, and 20-5% by weight of relatively wet beaten fibres e.g. having a wetness of above 70‹ Schopper-Reigler. The low S.R. fibres may be wood pulp fibres, cotton or rayon fibres, glass fibres, polyethylene terephthalate, nylon, rock wool, or asbestos fibres or a mixture of any thereof. The relatively wet beaten fibres may be wood pulp fibres and serve to provide bonding between the unbeaten or relatively lightly beaten fibres, at those positions where two of the latter fibres and a wet beaten fibre cross. Further, the foam method of manufacture described in Specification 1329409 ensures substantially uniform distribution of the wet beaten fibres throughout the material.
