  • Description:   The aim of the article was to point out the changes in air permeability and the swelling ability of the pulp fibers during recycling and simulated ageing. The effect of the repeated drying during recycling was proved by increase of the pulp sheets air permeability by about 56 % (from 2093 to 1498 ml-min^sup -1^). The effect of recycling and simulated ageing caused the increase in permeability by about 59 % (from 2093 to 5145 ml-min^sup -1^). The whole range of recycling and follow-up ageing resulted in decrease of the swelling ability. The pulp fibers reached their maximum swelling after the 300-second-long contact with water at 0th recycling (44.4 %). Swelling decreased to 33.7 % during 8 recycling cycles. The common effect of recycling and ageing was proved by decrease of swelling as for 18.5 %.
