Description:
The production of wood pellets (1) by heating wet wood chips (2), wood shavings, wood pulp and/or saw residual materials useful in private household area and in power plant, comprises withdrawing the wood chips conveyed from a sliding base (5) to a large extent vertically towards the top during the constant downward movement in a drying pit within an upper drying pit section by air heated over an upper heat exchanger in a cross-flow process of humidity, drying the wood chips in a lower drying pit section in a counter cross-flow process, and supplying the stored wood chips to a pellet process. The production of wood pellets (1) by heating wet wood chips (2), wood shavings, wood pulp and/or saw residual materials useful in private household area and in power plant, comprises withdrawing the wood chips conveyed from a sliding base (5) to a large extent vertically towards the top during the constant downward movement in a drying pit within an upper drying pit section by air heated over an upper heat exchanger in a cross-flow process of the humidity, drying the wood chips in a lower drying pit section in a counter cross-flow process by sucking the wet air and then storing in an intermediate silo, supplying the stored wood chips to a pellet process and then pressing under controlling the temperature in the form of the wood pellets, cooling the pressed wood pellets in a cooler at 30[deg] C, storing the pellets in pellet silos and carrying out a temperature monitoring. Before the pelleting, the wood chips are minced in a hammer mill into uniform grain sizes, which are controllably wetted the chip mix and then stored in a ripening container connected before a pellet press. The chip mix heated in the pellet-press by friction is pressed in a rotating edge mill through a matrix with defined hole size. Lignin is mixed as additional material up to 1% for pressing the wood chips before the press process. A fine portion developed during the pelleting is separated and sucked-off by sieving the wood pellets. The dust portion is sieved by renewing before packing and/or filling the wood pellets. The weight of the wood pellets affiliated in a silo vehicle is determined by balancing the empty and filled silo vehicle. An independent claim is included for: (1) a device for the production of wood pellets from basis material; and (2) a device for drying wood chips, wood shavings, wood pulp and/or saw residual materials.
