  • Description: THE Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co. is turning five times as many airplane engines out of its Hartford, Conn., plants as a year ago. Production has been increased to 100 engines a month, against 20 in 1927. Present production consists of 70 Wasps, 400 h.p., and 30 Hornets, 500 h.p. In 1927 entire production consisted of Wasps, for the Hornet engines have been put into quantity production only this year. The latter are now widely used in army, navy and commercial service.
