  • Description: The objective of the paper is to enable local authorities to improve air quality by considering road traffic polluting emissions in their decision to deal with road infrastructure. Innovative tools based on real mobility data from thousands of users were developed. These tools provide urban mobility departments with a clear vision of the impact of urban development and the associated regulations. They enable the classification of the impact of the different types of road development in place on the territory to identify best practices. The approach presented enables the visualization of the levels of polluting emissions, noise, emergency braking, and congestion on each section of the road. Then, recent infrastructure modifications, on which data could be collected before and after, were analyzed. Finally, infrastructure is classified in terms of polluting levels depending on congestion.
