Description:
The eight developmental goals including eradication of extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality and women empowerment, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability, and developing a global partnership for development started in 2000 and which expire in 2015, will pass the baton to the SDGs, intended to guide future global action on health, poverty, hunger, climate, and other development challenges. According to the report, a child raised in India is far more likely to be malnourished than one from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe or Somalia, the planet's poorest countries!
